At the beginning of 2017, the European Commission has started a study called EDAS-N to define new services to be provided to EGNOS users via broadcast means different from the EGNOS geo-stationary satellites. This study will determine user requirements for the next generation of the EGNOS Data Access Service (EDAS). The study is fully financed by the European Commission under the H2020 programme, within the budget allocated to the evolution of EGNOS’ mission. The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG-GROW) has appointed VVA, supported by DEIMOS, to perform the above-mentioned study. The results of the study will be available by the end of 2017.

To define user needs, we invite current users of the EDAS service as well as any interested parties to contribute to the project by providing feedback and sharing their ideas for the next generation EDAS service.

The consultants from VVA are looking to gather relevant information and perspectives through a two-step interview process (Delphi approach) with experienced stakeholders from across the GNSS downstream segments. VVA has started recruiting participants and would very much welcome your involvement in the study if you are interested to share your experience with using EDAS as well as your ideas and recommendations for the service’s future evolution.

The feedback collected during the interview process will directly feed into the identification and definition of value-added services and products for the future EDAS-N.

If you are interested in contributing to the study, we kindly ask you to directly contact VVA at
