Helicopters play a key role in today's rapid response services, undertaking emergency transport and delivery operations in life or death situations. However, adverse meteorological conditions can affect missions.

Under the EU-funded 'Hedge' project, a flight test has been carried out at Cerdanya airport in the Catalonian Pyrenees, illustrating how EGNOS can aid helicopters in the delivery of crucial medical services.
