What is Galileo HAS?

The Galileo High Accuracy Service (HAS) is a free, globally available precise point positioning (PPP) service aimed at applications requiring higher performance than what is offered by the Galileo Open Service.
Unlike other high accuracy services, Galileo offers the service directly through the signal-in-space (the radio navigation signals transmitted by Galileo satellites) and internet (the same data can be accessed in real time via the GSC website).
This enables it to provide real-time improved user positioning performance down to a decimetre level.
Benefits of the service
Moreover, the data is available over the internet and via the Galileo signal (E6-B).
Where is it used?

High accuracy is primarily used in professional applications as surveying, precision agriculture and civil engineering, amongst others.
New and emerging applications, including autonomous driving, unmanned vehicles, robotics and a range of location-based services will also benefit from the service.

EUSPA’s role

EUSPA is the Galileo service provider, holding responsibilities such as:
- the operations and maintenance of the Galileo system including its deployment
- the security accreditation of Galileo
- being the interface with the Galileo users
- overseeing service provision and market development
As the service provider, EUSPA established a front desk available to users and operated by the European GNSS Service Centre (GSC).
Facts and figures
- It provides decimetre-level accuracy.
- The service has been available since 2023.
- The list of HAS compatible devices is continuously updated.
- The HAS User Reference Algorithm (PPP algorithm) Technical Note is available to the users. Its software implementation will be enabled soon, making access to HAS easier for entrepreneurs, SMEs and any other relevant entity.
- The scope of the incoming HAS evolutions is detailed in the HAS Info Note.
