Save the date for the 2025 User Consultation Platform and Downstream Day!

Users and the downstream market are at the heart of the EU Space Programme, and from 4 – 5 December, EUSPA is hosting back-to-back events dedicated to both.
First up, on 4th of December, is our User Consultation Platform (UCP). This annual event is a chance for business and industry leaders, entrepreneurs, service providers, innovators and space user communities to express their needs, share best practices and present case studies.
“EUSPA’s mission is to be the user-oriented operational Agency of the EU Space Programme,” says EUSPA Executive Director Rodrigo da Costa. “The UCP is an opportunity for us to listen to your needs and learn how we can improve our services to better meet those needs.”
The added value about the UCP is that all the talks and discussions that happen during the event will be transformed into concrete actions. Past UCP sessions directly contributed to the development of such services as EGNOS for non-air traffic service environments or the new EGNOS Maritime Service, the Galileo remote beacon activation and the use of Copernicus for drone safety assessment or Copernicus for insurance, feeding risk models and assess the damage of natural events, – to name only a few.
This year’s event will cover the entire EU Space Programme, including GNSS, Earth Observation and Secure SATCOM, and will include dedicated sessions on:
- Food security and nature credits, including agriculture, forestry, climate and the environment
- Rail
- Cooperative, connected and automated mobility (CCAM)
- GNSS receivers onboard space assets
- Public transport
- EU border and internal security

Spotlight on the many opportunities available to the downstream industry
The results of the individual UCP sessions will be presented the next day, 5 December, during a plenary session that officially kicks off EUSPA’s Downstream Day.
Downstream Day is your chance to discover various R&D opportunities that EUSPA has available for the downstream industry. These include ongoing opportunities like our Horizon Europe calls and Fundamental Elements programme.
In addition, there will be an overview of the market regarding the new services of Galileo, alongside the opportunity to meet manufacturers of receivers, application developers, and end users who will showcase the key differentiators of Galileo in action during various demonstration events.
“These are exciting times for the downstream space market, with the GNSS, Earth Observation and Secure SATCOM sectors all expected to see record growth,” concludes Fiammetta Diani, EUSPA Head of Market Development and Innovation. “This event is designed to ensure the European downstream industry has all the information it needs to ride this wave.”
Both events will be hybrid, taking place in Prague and online.
