Agenda outline

Session 1: Setting the Policy and Regulatory Context

This opening session establishes the regulatory and institutional landscape shaping climate risk management across the EU. Representatives from the European Commission, EIOPA and EBA will present their respective frameworks, covering climate resilience policy, sustainable finance regulation, the insurance protection gap, and ESG risk management guidelines.

Session 2: Long-Term Risk Modelling and Planning

The session explores how EO data and climate modelling tools can support pre-event risk assessment. Presentations will cover the use of Copernicus for long-term risk analysis, asset exposure and vulnerability mapping through the Copernicus Land Monitoring Service, and the integration of physical climate risks into banking and financial decision-making.

Session 3: Event Footprint Evaluation

This session shifts to post-event analysis, examining how Copernicus and climate data can support rapid damage assessment, crisis response and parametric insurance verification. We will address claims and crisis response workflows, including views from sector representatives.
