During the recent Ninth Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) European Congress organised by ERTICO – the network of Intelligent Transport Systems and Services stakeholder in Europe – at the Dublin Convention Centre the European GNSS Agency (GSA) highlighted the role of its portfolio of FP7 research projects in the real-world deployment of ITS solutions. This significant contribution was outlined through two technical sessions on 5 June.

The week of 13 May 2013 was the opportunity to explore EU-Japan industrial cooperation in downstream GNSS markets, with the opening of the first GNSS.Asia Japan workshop held in Tokyo, which gathered over 70 participants from the Japanese industry and academia in discussions with European counterparts.

The Galileo Public Regulated Service (PRS) offers the opportunity to integrate highly secure Global Satellite Navigation System (GNSS) signals within the mission-critical communication systems of civil authorities throughout Europe and beyond.

The workshop enabled the European Commission, the GSA and the stakeholders to exchange their viewpoints and experience about the European GNSS downstream applications sector.
