UCP 2025: User Needs and Requirements reports available
The 2025 User Needs and Requirements reports bring together the findings of EUSPA’s 2025 User Consultation Platform (UCP).
The UCP is the process that focuses on users and industry experts and gathers information about their needs to:
- Identify and implement actions supporting users
- Provide user-validated guidance and support the development of future services
Key highlights
The seven reports cover space; climate, environment and biodiversity; road and automotive; rail; public transport; EU border and internal security; and agriculture and forestry. They provide an evidence-based view of evolving user needs, identifying priorities and trends that can inform the future development of EU Space data and services.
The opportunities for wider use and exploitation of EU satellite technologies and services essentially rely on the combination with other technologies, depending on the specific application and use case’s needs, such as AI and machine learning-based tools, etc. The advantages generated by the combination with other technologies and techniques are to further enhance the safety and the efficiency of the present applications, and to develop new use cases. There is a broad and strong interest towards cutting-edge technology, more performant and advanced solutions/services, including EO and GNSS.
Stay tuned for the 2026 UCP
This year’s UCP takes place in Prague and online on 26 and 27 November 2026.
On the first day, EUSPA will bring users together through nine thematic consultation sessions, covering aviation and drones, fisheries and aquaculture, timing and synchronisation, health, tourism and cultural heritage, and EO data access and processing. Each session will explore how space technologies can better serve these communities. Day two will start with the UCP plenary, bringing participants together to discuss UCP outcomes and prioritise concrete actions for EUSPA. Participants will also discover new EU Space funding and business opportunities, explore live demonstrations and projects, and network.
