GSA Rail report tracks user PNT requirements

A Report on Rail User Needs and Requirements, recently published by the European GNSS Agency (GSA), examines user needs and requirements for position, navigation and timing (PNT) solutions in the rail sector. These reports, which are an outcome of the first European GNSS User Consultation Platform (UCP), will help shape the discussion at the next UCP, to be held as part of European Space Week in Marseille on 3-4 December 2018.

LetMeAut takes the prize at EU space hackathon

LetMeAut, an application that leverages Galileo high accuracy to make everyday tasks easier for people with autism, was declared the winner at the 2nd EU Space Programmes Hackathon, which brought experts and developers interested in shaping the future of location-based services (LBS), the Internet of Things (IoT) and Earth Observation together in Padua, Italy on 24-26 October 2018.

Proposals should aim to develop EGNSS competences in EU Member States and Associated Countries.

The actions should focus on EGNSS dissemination, awareness raising and communication, as well as provide opportunities for the creation of industrial networks in Europe and globally. In so doing, the actions should promote and demonstrate the advantages and differentiators of EGNSS services and showcasing EGNSS as an attractive option for investors, both in Europe and globally.

Technology promotion activities may include incentive schemes in the form of financial support to third parties for innovative EGNSS-based applications, boosting the uptake of downstream satellite navigation applications across Europe and beyond.

Galileo high accuracy in focus at INTERGEO 2018
