Galileo Launch 14 successfully strengthens Europe’s satellite navigation, with EUSPA leading critical early operations, enhancing constellation robustness, security and future services, and reinforcing long-term EU technological independence and market growth.

On 17 December 2025, Ariane 6 will launch two new Galileo satellites. The satellites will join the first-generation constellation, enhancing the European Union’s secure, autonomous and highly accurate positioning, navigation and timing capabilities.

The EU Space Programme continues to advance, with the successful launch of Sentinel-1D, the upcoming Galileo Launch 14, and several additional missions planned for 2026, marking another strong step forward for Europe’s leadership in space and innovation.

The addition of Sentinel-5A will significantly strengthen the capacity for Copernicus to track air quality, emissions and atmospheric composition on a global scale.

A GNSS receiver has successfully tracked Galileo and GPS signals and computed on board the Navigation Solution during lunar orbit and on the Moon's surface. This mission proved that Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals can be acquired, tracked and even used for positioning on the Moon!

The 8th CASSINI Hackathon: EU Space for Defence & Security took place earlier in 10 European countries. This edition’s winning teams from Slovenia, the Netherlands, Ukraine, and Spain demonstrated creativity, technical expertise, and a shared vision for a more secure space environment.
